Imperial Sand Dunes + Salvation Mountain | Desert Mama Maternity Session

Taylor Castillo | Baby Number 2

Desert and desserts were the theme of this maternity road trip session.  As Taylor and I planned her maternity session, we got a little ambitious.  I proposed a trip to the sand dunes.  Taylor grew up going to the dunes, and I had never been.  So we thought, "Let's go for it".  As we mapped out our trip, we took note of some of the key places along the way.  One of them being Salvation Mountain.  I'd been, Taylor had not.  So again we thought. "Let's go for it."  And that we did.

Salvation Mountain is definitely worth the trip.  It's a sight to see.  A man by the name of Leonard Knight designed and built it, and has a fascinating story.  Read more here.  It was built around the sinner's prayer and proclaims boldly that, "GOD IS LOVE" with Bible verses accompanying this.  Taylor and I joked that Wyatt (her first born) is going to be a surf kid based on her maternity session for him and baby boy #2 is going to be a motor bike, sand buggy boy.  Time will tell ;)
Here's a link to the first session we did when she was pregnant with Wyatt if you want to see those as well and enjoy this session found below.
